SustainaBites is an interactive design project that aims to promote sustainable food consumption. An app that tracks the environmental impact of food choices and assists users in making more sustainable options was the aim.
Our goal was to create an entertaining and instructive application that would make users more conscious of the environmental impact of their food choices. My primary responsibility was to perform user research, which included interviewing students to learn about their perspectives on sustainability and eating patterns as well as examining how frequently they purchase and consume certain food types.
After considering some options, we determined that the Food Tracker app was the most practical way to meet the needs of the users. I was instrumental in the development of the final design and helped create storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes. A carbon footprint calculator, a thorough food impact analysis, and a search option with filters for sustainable recipes are some of the app's features.
We gained important knowledge about user-centered design, the value of flexibility, and the necessity of clearly communicating environmental implications during the project. Despite obstacles like incorporating user feedback and keeping a consistent design, we were able to produce useful and educational software that promotes sustainable eating practices.
The social media initiative @busybadgersuw aims to provide a specific area where UW students may exchange and learn about various pastimes. Despite the lack of spaces for such activities within the student body, the intention was to create a community where students could display and talk about their interests.
Our job was creating and running an interesting and instructive Instagram account that inspired kids to pursue new interests. Creating content was my main responsibility, and it included taking pictures, editing them, creating Canva layouts, and writing subtitles. In addition, I was instrumental in modifying our content strategy in response to user input and engagement indicators.

We gained important knowledge regarding content creation throughout the project, such as the value of enthusiasm, flexibility, and consistency. Among the difficulties we encountered were adjusting our content to better appeal to our target audience and keeping a regular posting schedule in the face of other obligations. Despite these obstacles, we were able to develop a lively and engaging platform that encouraged our followers to participate in the community and try new things.​
